Meet Katia

Hi there! I’m Katia Ringbauer, a Speech Language Pathologist and I absolutely love working with children as my job!

I studied in Sydney at Macquarie University, completing a Bachelor of Speech and Hearing Science in 2015 and a Master of Speech and Language Pathology in 2019.

I provide a fun, engaging and holistic therapy service for children and their parents and offer visits at my clinic, based at the Specialist Suites, as well as home and preschool/school visits. My approach to supporting children with speech, language, communication or feeding and swallowing difficulties is always to develop a connection first.

Having spent the last 2 years working primarily as a feeding focused Speech Pathologist in Auckland, I love to help families with feeding during challenging times. I have completed post graduate training and courses to develop my skills in this area. I work with breastfeeding, enteral feeding (e.g. nasogastric tube), oral aversion, paediatric feeding disorder and ARFID.

Speech sound disorders are of particular interest to me and I have also completed specific training in this area, particularly for children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech.

My partner, Tom and our dog Wally now call Port Macquarie our home after a couple of years away in NZ! In my free-time I love being creative, exploring, hiking, walking to the beach, and practicing yoga.

My friends call me a research nut. I am always interested in learning new approaches to support children to develop their skills. I have completed a wide range of additional courses and will always access the best available evidence to plan a speech therapy session. Some specific courses I have completed are listed below.
